Hi all, My voda tariff is '300 minutes + Unlimited Texts with Mobile Internet and Vodafone Passport' AFAIK there's a 500MB FUP on the data tariff. Does anybody know what happens when you exceed this? I've just acquired a Nokia N900 and suspect I'll be using between 250MB-750MB of mobile data each month.

I ordered an Orange wireless broadband dongle by phone. When received, it didn't work (never mind no reception, it wouldn't even install). I rang to return it (within 7 days of receiving it, and under the SOGSA) and they said they'd send me a return envelope. The envelope (Royal Mail Special Delivery, so currently minimum £4.95, and possibly more by weight) arrived today and wasn't...

It seems that using the S2 as a mobile modem can be more expensive than at first realised. I was wondering why my monthly mobile dongle Internet allowance and one week Internet add-on weren't lasting very long. It seems that the S2 and my laptop are uploading and downloading considerable amounts of data as soon as a connection is established. The S2 Mobile Modem window shows considerable data...

The Culture of Critique reviewed by Stanley Hornbeck In The Culture of Critique, Evolutionary Psychologist Professor Kevin MacDonald advances a carefully researched but extremely controversial thesis: that certain 20th century intellectual movements – largely established and led by Jews – have changed European societies in fundamental ways and destroyed the confidence of Western man. He claims...

Hi all, I have an unlocked 3 ZTE dongle which I usually use with a T-Mobile sim and the generic Telstra software. I now have a new PC and on occasion want to use a 3 SIM but I cannot top-up without the software as I do not know the number to enter My3 therefore I need the 3connect software in order to buy credit. Does anyone have a link for the 3connect software please?

I topped up my S2 subscription by £10 and received the usual 'free stuff' including an internet allowance of 150Mb. However my Three mobile dongle has just run out of credit with a week to go, so I decided to buy a one week internet add-on at £2.50 for the S2 which I can also use as a modem. However I have two concerns.

What's the cheapest way to do this? Vodafone charges 75p connection, but won't apply Vodafone family.

Having had my fingers aka bank balance severely burnt by BT, Fresh, Three and now Giffgaff overcharging, imposing hidden charges and plain incompetance (like Giffgaff has just 'lost' my latest top-up) I have decided that I do not trust any telcos to bill me correctly. Therefore I am seeking a replacement for when my Fresh account expires at the end of March. So far the only PAYG telcos that offer...

I've been trying to add ringtones to my Sigmatel FXD S9000. I've received a 2GB micro SD card which works (SDHC doesn't), and I can play MP3s but not MIDI files in the file manager. I can't seem to find an option to take ringtones off the card (the phone has a single built-in MIDI ringtone in addition to a single non-MIDI ringtone). It has no other I/O (no Bluetooth, no USB) except the air...

Hi clever folks; Am considering purchasing the Blackberry Storm 2 and maybe save some money by importing it (I live in Denmark where smartphones are quite expensive compared to other places and even more so if not glued to a subscription). I have - though - come across some writing about different regional variations of the phone, i.e. the "European" model, the "Asian" etc. In what way are...

I tried getting the answer to this question via the O2 web site (couldn't find it), O2 on-line chat to an advisor, who didn't know the answer, and by calling O2. The latter gave me the answer that even the smallest amount of data would cost the full £1. That doesn't seem right to me. If you used a small amount of data, on the O2 simplicity tariff, where you are not subscribing to a data...

Giffgaff has just sent me an email listing the reward points for my new account. The telephone no. referenced for this is given as 4.47708E +11 - the 44 means UK, the telphone no. is indeed (0)778... but where's the rest???? Doh!! CJB.

My female friend and I are having to find another telco. to join after the demise of Fresh. However our immediate concern is to obtain a refund of credit balances with Fresh (ex-CPW). Fresh seem to be unwilling to action any refund right now. And we have been told to wait until after March 31 (or until Fresh ceases to provide a service). However we are sure that Fresh will not bother to...

A family member will shortly be spending 6 months travelling and working in various counties in South East Asia - Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia etc. What's the best way to keep in touch please - buying local SIM cards in each country visited or using one of the so-called Global SIM cards (or something else)? Any advice and recommendations would be much appreciated. TIA V

My wife bought a "clearance" phone from mobiles.co.uk and it died less than 24hrs after receiving it. We've contacted the seller but they're only offering repair or exchange (as they have no more of this particular model), no refund. I've checked their T&C and indeed it does say that they only have to offer an exchange but I would have thought that it's a clear case for a complete refund under...

Hi, Do Asda only sell old models of phone? I bought a 6220 from them but it has been lost/stolen and no-one seems to sell it anymore. I'm looking for something with 3G internet, what's the cheapest phone that does that well? They listed the Nokia E65 which attracted me because it also has wifi but I wanted to see it in real life first, to see how big the keys/screen/phone were etc. and it seems...

I'm new to this NG so please be kind to me. I have recently been made redundant and am looking for ways to reduce outgoings. I currently have an old (BT Cellnet*) contract SIM which is on a now superseded Net100 tariff which gives 200 mins. free calltime for approx GBP 18/month. I have had this contract for more than 8 years (now with O2 of course). This SIM does not work in newer or 3G...

I've just tried to port from T-mobile to Orange. The port date was yesterday. But today both phones still get signal and are able to make calls. When I use them to call my landline they both have the same CLID, even though they're on different networks. If I call the mobile number it goes through to my T-mobile phone, but it should be my Orange phone. Will this sort itself out eventually?

A question. I have recently transferred from Vodafone to O2, keeping the same phone. A friend says the sound quality is not as good - more distorted and too loud. I assumed all networks would operate to the same technical standards (or at least the 900 MHz ones would). So is there a difference between networks or is it more likely to be a different cause? Is the sound quality worse if you...

Help required - my daughter has purchased a Samsung Blade from Voda by way of a contract renewal She can make and receive phone calls from the phone and she can also access the web. What she cannot do is set the phone up so she can send and receive emails - which was the main reason for changing to the phone in the first place!

For my travels abroad I would like to have my own means of connecting to Internet and Mail using Wi-Fi. I am considering to buy a netbook but I wonder if spending on a decent mobile would be a more cost effective and more portable as I would have with me only one and smaller device. However, one thing I am not sure is whether these smartpohes can, in effect, do all that a netbook can do as...

Wondering if anyone can help. When I receive a new text a red asterisk appears next to the 'messages' and 'SMS/MMS' icons as expected. However, when I read the message (using either one of the icons) the red asterisk remains on the other one. The message count from the main screen goes but the other red asterisk doesn't unless I open that folder and go out of it again. Is this normal??

Well, i was just finishing an eighteen month contract with Three for £7.50 a month, with 3gb of download allowance, using a usb zte mf622 dongle. Hi, First post here today. I am looking for a new screen for the Vodafone 810. I can't find one anywhere. I have been trying to cross-reference one from the www. Within the last 48 hours Orange have altered their Answerphone menu, and ini my opinion it is WORSE. Before you had 1 to listen to message 2 to save 3 to delete 4 to have a free text sent with the number of the person who left a message. # to return the call using normal call rates.
