Looking at contract options for my daughter.

I suppose payg would be the safe way but I am told the price per text is
much higher than on contract.

Virgin do a contract for £15.00 a month:
150 Minutes
1000 Texts

That isn't a contract! At least, that's what the woman in my local Virgin
mobile shop told me last week when I asked about my daughter's phone bill.

With her new phone, in April, she got a voucher fror 1000 free texts, which
were given out at 250/month for four months. Over that, cross-network
texts are 12p. Now that the voucher has run out, she faces a typical bill
above GBP30/month for texts alone.

She can't have the above contract, though, because she's 18. I could take
it out for her, but that's hardly empowerment or upbringing, is it?

O2 deal at `top up GBP10/15/30 a month, get 300/500/unlimited free texts'
looks like a good bet, and, thankfully, looks as if I need spend precious
little time interacting with the zombie staff in my local O2 shop.
