Check date settings of the phone itself, to ensure it actually
thinks its 2008.
What you are getting is what i'd expect if the phone thought it was
2007.

It was a very silly mistake but even more astonishingly both O2 and
Sony were unable to spot it either!

Just goes to show these call centres have no real interest in solving your
problem, they just want to get you off the line as quickly as they can, so
they'll tell you you need to update your phone, or re-install the software
or whatever, and if there's any way they can put the blame on something else
(what? you've installed unauthorised software on your phone??) so much the
better...

I'm quite suprised that O2 managed to transfer a call to Sony Ericsson, or
did the OP just mean that O2 gave her a phone number for SE??
