It isn't!!! Except if you want 100s of "apps" from an "appstore" like the
iPhone and its clones. Many serious business phones are WM based as they
do things like synchronise from an Outlook server natively.

There ARE addons for WM-based phones - just not as neatly packaged!

Thanks - the problem with first time with any new equipment is that you
don't know what you might want to do beyond your initial reasons, until you
see what's available. At this stage I want a phone with big screen,
internet, email, Google, facebook, GPS/satnav useage (possibly with
Copilot). But on what you say I'll have a look through what apps might
become must-haves.
