It seems a lot of PAYG SIMs require you to make a call every 90 days to
avoid being cancelled. Would other chargeable use would also count, e.g.
texting or using the internet/email from the phone?

I recently found a Nokia 1100 down a crevice in the sofa that was last
seen (according to the call and text logs) in July 2006.
To my surprise the SIM is still active.

Seriously, it makes a very good upgrade from an Apple iPod Touch. Screen
and Android apps are impressive. Just ignore depending on it as a phone
unless ye can plug it to charge at least once a day.

Got mine for £70 before xmas on PAYG, 6 months free internet. A nice toy
IMO.
This rings a vague bell somewhere. I've had emails blocking in POP3 in
the past when using T-mobile. If it seemed persistent I'd switch to
accessing the POP3 server through an SSH tunnel and they then transfer
fine.
What really annoys them most is that when they ring to report it
Vodafone blame on their phones, SIM card and anything rather than admit
there is a fault though some people have been given free Sure Signals.

Are the customer service people given access to any information on
network faults or are they programmed to initially blame the customer's
equipment. Reminiscent of BT broadband!

Hello everyone:

I am trying to get a confirmed list of email to SMS address for operators in the UK. I've see lists that indicate

<a for T Mobile
<a for Orange

etc

but most information online seems outdated or incorrect. I am hoping perhaps forum members can help create a confirmed list of addresses.

One way to find out what your phone's email to SMS address is to send a text message to an email address and see what the from "address" says at the other end. This may not always work but its quick and easy to try.

I develop an app that enables you to SMS from a PC (bit.ly/phoneleash - hope moderator is OK!) and thats my selfish reason for trying to get this information

Thank you
