Hi guys

looking for clarification on porting.

My 12 months minimum term with Orange finishes on the 18th June.

I have requested my PAC today as I want to take the number to Asda
mobile. The PAC expires on the 17th June.

Can I phone the PAC through to Asda on the 17th, which should result in
the port happening on the 18th, or is this not possible as the PAC
expires on the 17th?

I did read somewhere that the number transfer can happen up to the 32nd
day, which seems to suggest that the PAC can be used on the expiry date.

I guess I could phone the PAC through on Friday 14th which would result
in the number porting on Monday 17th?

Some clarification or confirmation would be much appreciated.

Thanks
number. Even more confusing is what happens when you call one phone
from the other, it tries to go to voicemail on the *called* phone but
since that's the voicemail of the calling phone you end up listening to
the voicemail rather than being able to send one.

Can anyone suggest how to unscramble this, Virgin's help was pretty
useless.

We can't change the SIMs around as we want to retain our own numbers.

It's as if the voicemail system is locked to the phone rather than the
SIM.

Before I try and get it re-connected is there any mobile or service which
is suitable for this type of use? It is only any good if I can use it
after it's been sitting in the car for a year or two (assuming I keep it
charged). It's utterly useless if I am stuck somewhere and it decides it
can't register the SIM.
such as: Europe also allows marrying young girls, the age of consent
replace our Virgin "pay as you go on DD" which until now had the
advantage of needing no topping up to keep alive and costs nothing for
no calls (important for me in particular, my bill is regularly 0.00).
I thought that Giffgaff might be suitable. I'd happily post them a
couple of SIMs, and assumed that they would be able activate them before
leaving so they know their new temporary numbers in advance, and would
be able to use their phones as soon as they reached Heathrow.

But it seems from postings on the Giffgaff site that you can't activate
the card with a credit/debit card that is registered outside the UK. Is
this a general problem, or just some arbitrary bit of user-hostile
behaviour on the part of O2/Giffgaff? If anyone knows of SIMs that
could be set up from outside the UK and maybe topped up using a foreign
credit card (and are not too expensive) then I'd be pleased to know
about it.

I've had a Wildfire S for about 16 months. I hardly use it at all for calls
and SMS, typically one or two of each per month. It's mainly used for
e-mail, and a few other Internet things, bus and train times etc..

For several months it's been running very low on internal storage. If I go
to settings|SD & phone storage at the moment it's telling me that I have
3.84 MB free. If I then go to Make more space and clear the cache for all
applications I typically get a few kB back. I have a few apps installed on
the 'phone, three of which cannot be moved to the SD card, but these are
small. I have it set to only keep mail messages on the 'phone for one day.

If I then go to settings|applications|storage use it tells me that I have
4.2 MB of internal storage free, with 146 MB used. This is after I have
gone into each application and deleted data wherever I can. The largest
user of internal storage is Mail with 21.29 MB, followed by maps with 11.7
MB; nothing else has more than 5 MB, and most are tiny.

I have a file manager installed and have looked through the file system
starting from / but can find nothing using large amounts of storage, other
than on the SD card.

The problem is getting gradually worse; until recently I could generally get
about 12 MB free, but about half that is about the best I can get now.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be using this storage which I
haven't thought of?
