Default 6310i on GSM 1900

I've used the 6310i in both countries. No problem at all. Just make sure
you have international roaming active and that you are set to automatic
selection and you'll have no problem using the phone. A word of warning:
roaming in the US is far more expensive than it seems like it should be.
Incoming rates on contract accounts run from 60p to a £1 a minute. Outgoing
to the UK are very expensive, as are calls to other parts of the US. While
free long distance is part of motion US cellular plans, they hit roamers
with long distance charges as well.

You could easily pay £1,50 a minute to call the UK.

I have a UK Nokia 6310i which I am taking to the USA for the first
time on Friday. Previous tri-band phones (Motorola) have had a menu
to switch between 900/1800 and 1900, but there's no such menu or any
information in the manual about crossing the pond.

Is the 6310i autosensing? Do I just switch it on in the USA and let
it find a GSM network? I have been wondering about taking an old
tri-band phone with me just in case, but that's possibly silly.
