Just got a note today from Three.
2 changes :- From October £1 a month extra for paper billing. Also, and more of an issue for me - "From 23rd September 2008, any calls lasting 60 seconds or less will be rounded up to a minute. After the first minute, you’ll get charged for the rest of the call per second. There’s no change for calls made before 23rd September 2008." "If you have any questions, you can find the answers at three.co.uk/ billingchanges" Sounds like a rip off to me.... |

Three are copying the other networks who have already done it, in response to losing roaming revenue. I expected it from the others, it's a shame Three who have tried to be different are now following suit Steve Terry |

According to the 3 T+C's, I can cancel: Within one month of a detrimental variation to your agreement. You can end the agreement within one month of us telling you about a variation to your agreement (which includes your Price Plan) which is likely to be of detriment to you. You must give written notice to 3 Customer Services within that month and your agreement will finish at the end of that month once we receive your notice. (A Cancellation Fee will not be charged.) It sounds like I can cancel? I'm about 12 months in to an 18 month contract and could do with a change anyway. I'm going to write to them and hope they allow me to cancel. From what it says I can't see that they can argue much. |

Also, how would one go about keeping my number as well as cancelling? |

All that will happen is you are issued with a bill for the remainder of your contract that you haven't fulfilled. This is where you take a gamble and cancel your direct debit and argue the point that they changed their T&C's.!! |

Also, how would one go about keeping my number as well as cancelling? They should let you cancel (any T&C that said they could unilaterally jack up prices during the term would be an unfair contract term and void and severable). They may well argue. Send a recorded delivery letter, terminating the contract on the grounds of the disadvantageous change and request a PAC and a confirmed termination date and charge. |
