Hi
My daughter has a BB 8520 on Orange PAYG. She does not have the BIS package. In the usage history there are 52 £0.02 charges described as GPRS ap-prepaidsessio of 3.0Kb. Orange, when asked, said this was internet use outside of the 50MB allowance. The phone has not knowlingly been used on the internet 52 times in two weeks. What else could cause this data? I did notice that GPS was enabled. This phone doesn't have hardware for this, but maybe it's automagically using AGPS. Would this be a reason for the charges? And why have they never been there before? Thanks for any pointers. |

Some phones will use GPRS (note, not GPS) in preference to SMS if it is available. -- Woody harrogate three at ntlworld dot com |

Check the text setup. Some phones will use GPRS (note, not GPS) in preference to SMS if it is available. I couldn't find any settings relating to that. The usage history shows text messages and these GPRS £0.02 costs. There are plenty more texts than these GPRS things. |
