There are special apps for Skype and MSN messenger for '3'. You need to
go to 'My 3', on a computer, (doing this from memory)... select 'My
mobile'. When you have the correct mobile displayed progress from there
and a green menu appears on the RHS of the display. Choose the bottom
option. That should take you to the downloads that you require.
I haven't actually done the downloads myself but a friend has a k530i,
not originally on '3', and needed to find the apps.

But if they don't list your phone you have to experiment and find out
what
works yourself.

You don't need a special MSN messenger app because any normal one will
work
fine over a 3g internet connection.

I have heard rumours that the special 3 app is actually a custom version
of
the app I suggested.
I haven't experimented myself since I am now on Vodafone.

Thanks Brian. My phone is an HTC Touch Pro. It isn't listed, so I
tried the other HTC options that were listed (Hero and TyTn). But the
last option on the green menu in both cases was just to send settings
to my phone using a text message.

I guess iSkoot is going to be the way to do it. It depends on whether
the number they use is one that is included in my free calls allowance.

HTC Touch Pro runs Windows mobile, so use
http://www.skype.com/intl/en/downloa...windowsmobile/

It aint rocket science!

You can't possibly be Julian Moss?

Did you not read my reply to the last message where you suggested that?

If you'd ever tried it over a 3G network you'd know that it's it utterly
useless over 3G.
Which is why the iSkoot application came into existence.

High Latency doesn't make it useless, just unpleasant to use

He didn't even read properly my first post where I was asking about
the special version of Skype for 3. If I'd wanted to use the plain
vanilla WM version and use up my data allowance making Skype calls I
would have done so. As to what who I am has to do with anything I have
no idea.

I didn't know about iSkoot so thanks for pointing it out to me.

You can only make out about one word in three -- useless.

Nothing wrong with " Three" been with them for quite a few years now
they are much better than rip off Vodka and O2 etc in fact I intend to
buy another phone from them tomorrow has my present contract with them
finished today has it happens.
My only grumble with them is their customer service is useless if they
employed personnel that could speak fluent English instead of double
Dutch they would be offering a 100% perfect service but has I very
seldom need help with phones etc it isn't a problem for myself.

And this has what exactly to do with what was being discussed?
