Anyone knows anything about the sms service "smsbug.com"?

It seems to have gone out of business.
No customer support.
Forum has been removed.
No mail replies for about 4-5 months.

Just had a quick look, it's not cheap is it 4.5p, not sure if that's including VAT,
and even if you give them £220 up front there is no discount.
Also the user names of the "Top Users in last 24 hours" are given out
on the home page, what's *that* all about.

Does this service do stuff that the likes of smslisto.com dosn't?
It's half the price.

It doesn't seem to do anything anymore. We used to try to use their
service for half a year, for company contacts, but it never work
well.

Very often only about 50% of our SMSs reached our clients. We tried to
contact them but we still haven't had any answers to a lot of issues.
Some of them as old as 4 years!

About four months ago we tried the service again, since we still have
credits remaining. Not one single sms reach the receipents. Smsbug
hasn't yet bothered to answer our mails.

The price 4.5p is only for the British site. At the international site
the price is 3 eurocents. I've never manage to figure out the reason
for the discrimination.

There are other services, much more reliable and with working
customers service.

When SWMBO worked from home using this office her boss insisted on installing
"textmagic" on her PC even (I was not consulted)
Just had a look at the website and £17.01 will buy you 200 credits (6.8p)

Mind you, buying your credits in bulk will earn you a discount. If you hand
over £3 grand (who would?) you get 50,000 credits (4.6p)
Did I mention that smslisto.com charge 2.8p and you only need to give them
10.75 Euros at a time.

It's installed on my phone, but I hadn't tried using it, beyond
checking the balance of the 5 free trial messages

I just did that again, got the balance in a few seconds, then sent a
message which arrived in 3 or 4 seconds

Yes it does, sometimes, if you happen to send to the "right" net.

We sent about 30-40 sms to a "supported" net in Norway. Not a single
one reached the receipents.

No reaction whatsoever on our mails to the client support. It's now
about 4-5 month ago.

I thought maybe someone knew what has happened. It seems to be working
like an abandoned ship at sea, still floating, but not really working,

A veritable Mary Celeste of a telecoms company.

But still "working" very nicely from the point of view of the owners
of the system, who still get your money.

Oh no! Not our money anymore! We have been TRYING and testing, on
short term bases, since they started back in summer 2005 to use them
as a cheap way of contacting our customers, but we have never been
able to trust the service.

They have failed to deliever appr. 20 - 50% of our messages. That's
not good enough.

They have exaggerated their coverage, including countries with no
SMS-delievery.

They have blocked logins.

They have no client support and consequently don't answer mails.

It looked like a very good idea from the start, but they failed to
deliever. Pitty... and now it seems they've given up.

We are no mainly using fishtext.com instead. It's an old and reliable
service. We are now paying 2 eurocent per messages. Very seldom any
failures.
