Some years ago I was with Orange PAYG, and ocasionally used their GPRS for access to the web and email. Problem is it was a complete rip off. Are Orange still a rip off for GPRS, or have they become better value these days? I am considering using them again, but only when I cannot get into the three network. How much are their costs these days for GPRS on PAYG? The default rate (which takes over in the absence of any bundle) is £3 per Mb for PAYM and £4 for PAYG, however there is also daily cap of £1, shortly to be reduced to 60p. -- Regards Jon |

O2 have a new pay and go tariff called 'text and web'. When you top up £10 or more per month, there is a sliding scale of benefits. If you top up the basic £10, you can that money credited to your o2 pay and go balance, and get 300 texts and 'unlimited web', unlimited really meaning 500Mb 'fair-use'. Still, pretty good for just a tenner a month, plus the balance to use on calls. I use a nokia 5800 with it, which is great for web-browsing with latest firmware, so it can replace a laptop for checking news websites and what-not. I still use opera-mini just for ease of use. |

@f8g2000yqn.googlegroups.com, says... O2 have a new pay and go tariff called 'text and web'. When you top up £10 or more per month, there is a sliding scale of benefits. Orange have been doing that for about 2 years, with a reduced data bundle allowance albeit. -- Regards Jon |
