Some years ago I was with Orange PAYG, and ocasionally used their GPRS for
access to the web and email. Problem is it was a complete rip off. Are Orange still a rip off for GPRS, or have they become better value these days? I am considering using them again, but only when I cannot get into the three network. How much are their costs these days for GPRS on PAYG? Thanks |

See http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/genericContent.do?contentId=payasyougo.our.tariff. shop.sm285. IIRC the charges for going over the limits are quite high, but I can't locate them on their website at the moment. ![]() -- Martin Jay Back the Ban: http://www.backtheban.com/ League Against Cruel Sports: http://www.league.org.uk/ |

If I hadn't bothered to look it up, previously, I would have expected to be charged at most 30p for each 25MByte increment. Having said that, I don't think I've ever gone over about 12MBytes in a day of what I consider pretty heavy Internet browsing from my handset... email, web pages, Google Maps and IM. By the way, adult content blocking is set to on by default, so I wonder what they mean by "unlimited?" Oh, perhaps I should add that I know this because eBuddy IM is block because of it. ![]() -- Martin Jay Back the Ban: http://www.backtheban.com/ League Against Cruel Sports: http://www.league.org.uk/ |

He's on the Internet Texter tariff; 1GB/ month, plus 3000 texts, 2000 3-3 minutes and 75 other minutes. The handset is an HTC XDA Orbit (the mark 1) That's right XDA Orbit is not 3g, which would force it to always roam on Orange 2g costing 3 money when you use it, also 2g GPRS data speeds are too slow to be of use. You need a 3g phone Steve Terry -- Get a free Three 3pay Sim with £2 bonus after £10 top up http://freeagent.three.co.uk/stand/view/id/5276 |
