Default Recording *beep* phone calls *beep*

I want my phone to be able to record phone calls without the other person
knowing. When I had my Nokia N70 I installed something called Ultimate
Voice Recorder which worked fine.

I've just installed it on my E72 and every 2 seconds I can hear a quiet
beep in the background which the other person can hear as well! Looking
at alternative software it seems that a feature that comes with some
recorders is beep "suppression". So it seems that it's not the recording
software making the beep but something built into the phone itself that
detects if a recording is taking place and if it is, emits a repeating
beep in the background.

Under English law I have the right to record my own phone calls without
informing the other party. So why do Nokia feel they need to put this
crap on their phone which lets them know it's being recorded?

Is there any recording software which gets around this beep?

Get yourself a good used Siemens SL42 or SL45 2g phone,
they record to it's SD card without a beep.

I had great fun with mine, one recording lead to a friends divorce.

About £10.

Ultimate Voice Recorder is £4 and does the same thing. Doesn't work on
my N.E72 though.

Radio Shack / Tandy used to sell / probably still does in the US a
small mic. that could be suckered to a phone handset. The other end
got plugged into a cassette reorder (or other recording device). Price
was a couple of quid. CJB.

Bit inconvenient even if it works on a mobile phone

Are you sure it was a mic, I think it was an inductance coil.

I wish there was an option to play an automated message at the
start of each incoming recording call saying:

"Calls may be recorded for training purposes"

Then I'd be allowed to use the recordings for any purpose.
