Default landline phones with sim readers

Hi,

A few years ago I bought some land line phones that copied the names
and numbers from a mobile sim, which was useful for caller display. I
bought a corded BT relate 2100 and a DECT BT 6210. The thing is that
they don't work with current sims but do work with old sims. I guess
something must have changed with sim design since then?

So I am looking for something that works with "new" sims, since I've
lost the only sim I had that worked with them! Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

I have a Philips se435 that works with my current sim although I doubt
it would take the new mini sims.

Mini sims? What are they? I haven't heard of those. Had I known they
existed, I would have phrased myself clearer. When I said "new" sims,
what I meant was sim cards the same size they always were. It's just
that sims from the last few years are not recognised by the readers
but old sims (from my ten year old phone LOL) were.

I believe they're called microSIMs (for new devices, or currently, just one
device, namely the Apple iPad). HTH.

They're micro-SIMS in the ipad and new iphones. What we call a SIM
nowadays is actually a mini-SIM. Full-size SIMs are the same
dimensions as a credit card, old Motorola phones used them.

Thanks for that. I remember one of my first mobiles needing the full
size card (Motorola :-) on Orange, from A+A, c1996) and subsequent
phones only using the mini-SIM. Peter.
