6230 - How to tell if it's unlocked/sim-free? by
RG
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows a code to enter on a Nokia 6230 to
establish whether the phone is locked to a network or not? I know I can just
put in a different sim card and see, but I've not got one to hand at the
moment. I've googled this but nothing seemed to come up. It's an O2 Online
6230 (firmware v 4.28).
Best,

Hello
I use the software and codes on a 7600, did not get rid of the three
branding, but worked ok.
I am getting a Nokia 6630 locked on three, and I understand on the forums
that these can not be unlocked as they are a new generation.

Nokia 1100 - Virgin - unlock codes by
Orson Cart
I've just got a Nokia 1100 (made in Hungary) from Virgin. Entering the
*#0000# code gives me the following information -

RH-18
and the IMEI starts 3570.
I've trawled through postings to this group, and those in the forums on

O question, unlocking by
B J H
Hi,
is it possible to get a free new handset on O contract, and then downgrade
after a period to OVP Virgin (with no monthly line rental) and then throw
the sim away and pay nothing?
Also, if i was to get a nokia phone, which ones of them can I unlock easily?
Thanks

Default security code for a Nokia 6310i by
Neil Kiley
Orange (bless their cotton socks) have sent me a new SIM card. The old one
has expired, and so I merrily put in the new one, and the phone is asking me
for a "security number". Ah. I call Orange, ask what it is, they say it is
the default one that came with my phone, if I dig out the original packaging
it will be on there. Great.
Any idea what the number might be? It's a Nokia 6310i. ...

Unlocking Samsung A800 with a data cable by
steeler
It is currently locked to virgin and I have the data cable.
I unlocked it with A800 service software and it worked with an orange sim -
however it reset the lock when phone was switched off.
I was then told to get A800free (A800 unlock calc - 2003 readear).
I managed to "read" the info on the phone with this and it has thrown up a
couple of codes (SP? and NET?).
Can anyone walk a novice (me)...

RSS feeds for mobiles by
Gordon Freeman
I'm looking for RSS feeds that contain short but complete news stories like
you can find on Ceefax. The BBC's RSS feeds tend to be just a sentence or
so touting a URL which has the actual story, but as I'm using GPRS I'd
rather not use the web. Reuters' feeds are somewhat better (go to
http://uk.reuters.com/tools/rss for a list of their feeds) but I wondered
if anyone had any gems to...

Sony Ericsson Phone Unlock Code? by
Steve
Just been given a phone by my brother in law and I trid putting my Vodafone
sim in it, and it asks for the 'phone unlock code'
Brother in law says he has never set a code in the phone, so does anyone
have any idea why its asking for one and what it might be, a default one
maybe?
The phone is a T610.
Any way of getting around this lock? Or is it a bin job?

unlock SE p900 and treo 600? by
AT
Hi
I am thinking of getting either a p900 or treo600 pda phone however,
does anyone know if they can be unlocked (from Orange)? I do travel a
bit and when I am in the far east, I usually get a lock sim card for
making local calls - much cheaper than roaming!
I did send an email to orange and ask but they could only unlock it if
you terminate your contract!?!

Unlocking a Blackberry 7130g by
Russell Hafter News
I recently was 'given' one of these by Orange as a 'free'
upgrade. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
However, GPRS always failed on the phone.
Orange Customer Cervice told me that I in order to get GPRS
on a Blackberry I needed to pay an additional £5 (I think)
on my monthly contract, and that the shop should have told
me this when giving me the phone. (They did not.)
