Siemens SL42e address book by
Graham Borland
I want to back up the address book onto my PC. I assumed I could do this by
just copying it off the MMC, but I can't find anything resembling this on
the card. Where's it stored? I don't want to use the SIM because then I'll
lose most of the interesting bits of all the entries.

6310i on GSM 1900 by
Stuart G. Friedman
I've used the 6310i in both countries. No problem at all. Just make sure
you have international roaming active and that you are set to automatic
selection and you'll have no problem using the phone. A word of warning:
roaming in the US is far more expensive than it seems like it should be.
Incoming rates on contract accounts run from 60p to a £1 a minute. Outgoing
to the UK are very...

S55 and Nokia Bluetooth by
Ricky Gervais
I bought a Nokia bluetooth kit for my S55 from CPW.
Its not working as well as I expected, are there any known problems
with this? The headset seems to lose touch with the phone and only by
resetting it, and disable/re-enable bluetooth on the headset seems to
get them to talk. This will only last for a number of calls before
they lose each other again.
Is this a mad match, dodgy headset or...

OT Geographic Number List by
James
There was a poster on UKTM that had a web page with list of geographic
numbers as a link in their signature. Does anyone have it please?
A geographic number for National Rail Enquiries would be handy.

6310 "unrepairable", really? by
Simon
Hi
My 6310 died on me last week, Carphone Warehouse say that the phone isn't
repairable because the on/off switch is broken. I'm a little dubious, but
the text of the engineers report said:
"Land loose on customers tactile switch. Nothing can be done for this
phone, at least not by me"
All gobbledegook to me, but apparently it's something to do with the

Forcing 3 phones to use 2g by
Brian Sheldon
3's £25 for 500 xnet mins is still a good deal and I'd still like to have
one even though I can't make voice calls where I work (lancaster) on the 3g
network. But, if it was possible to force the phone to use a 2g connection
I'd be alright, is that possible?

Just a quick questions...If I top up with £10, after 30 days I know the free
wap and free texts stop unless topped up with another £10 but can I still
make and receive calls with the original £10 credit and if so for how long
without having to re top up with £10.

Just-dial spam by

Andrew Paul Landells writes
I've just been spammed (e-mail) from just-dial, advertising call-through
numbers for international calls. Given that it's phone-related and I've
received it within a couple of hours of posting to uktm, I've got a
suspicion that I know where they got my address from.

T-mobile WAP via GPRS by
S Ward
I just moved to T-mobile from Orange and got a 3510i that I don't need as
part of the deal. What concerns me is that the phone came ready set up for
WAP access via GPRS. Given the ridiculous T-mobile GPRS costs anyone new to
WAP could be in for a big surprise (depending on their usage of course) if
they thought they would be paying a straightforward 10p a minute. Strikes me
as sharp practice...

I haven't seen this phone mnetioned around these parts - anyone got one?
I saw it in a phone shop a while ago and liked the size - and I've just
seen it's out on Orange......
It's probably a choice between this or the 6100

Comparing PAYG cards by

...
Is there a website that compares the tarrifs of the different PAYG cards?
www.cpw.co.uk has them all on separate pages (click network & tariffs).
Easier to get their brochure. Errors have been known so always doublecheck
your choice with the network in question.

Backing up a T68i to a PC by
Les Desser
Does anyone have any recommendations for an infra-red or Bluetooth
(Bluetooth preferred) adapter with software that I can use to back up my
T68i.
I do not want to use the 'Synchronise to Outlook' software, so I need
some software to go with it. In particular it should work well with
having multiple numbers under one name.
Thanks.

Mobile Call Costs by
Steve10578
You would think mobile call costs would be getting cheaper but no, they appear
to be getting more expensive, a complete reversal.
The only company that still seem to be offering peak and off peak calls is O2.
Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile have put the calling costs up by getting rid of
off peak calling.
Also I heard from a friend today who seems to be getting screwed by T-mobile
that he has to...
