Singlepoint web****e by www.kernow-telecom.co.uk
Hi all, Since when did Singlepoint's web****e stop working? I take it that it's due to the acquisition by Voda? (Acquiring such a company must have reduced their share price- ROFL!!!!!) Orange-v-Voda live! content by Robert
Just seen a demo of Voda Live!, and am tempted to go for the Sharp GX10i. Currently using a Nokia 6310i on Orange. Apart from the obvious, colour screen etc, which I'm not that bothered about. No real need to upgrade but I was impressed with the Voda Live! stuff.. Is it better content etc., than O's equivalent and would there be any other disappointing surprises for me if I went for the Sharp...

Locked phone abroad by George
I have an Orange J70, which I assume is locked. I'm going to Italy for a year in September. Will I be able to use an Italian PAYG SIM in it? (Sorry if that's a foolish question, but it occurred to me that the locking might simply block use with other UK networks). If not, how much will Orange charge to unlock it (it's an OVP Virgin handset)? And how easy is a J70 to unlock...

S55 for 80 quid (+flight and airport tax) by Sil-Mon Li
Dan wrote in message ... If you'd like one and you're going on holiday in Spain before 31st August, you can do a bit of shopping and pick up one on PAYG for 119 (about 80) from Blockbuster. You'll need to get it unlocked back in the UK of course. And download the manual from the Siemens website. And get hold of a...

Everyday 50 vs OVP VT500/VT750 by Steph Davies
Considering making the move from good old ED50 to one of these new tariffs and would appreciate any advice on the matter. Is it a good move? I found a bill from last year on ED50 where I had made 2,500 minutes of calls and my bill was only £105! Lately my bills have been around £35, although £8 of that is WAP access and insurance. My typical usage is around 500 minutes, of

I have an infra-red connection on my laptop. Mobile Number Ranges by Jim
Is there a document available that will give the dialling codes of the various mobile network providers? What I want to be able to ascertain is which mobile network a phone number is on and avoid lengthy calls when calling 'cross network'. I realise that some numbers will have been proted from one provider to another but a guide would be useful. Thanks. Jim

SMS Messaging by Ewan C McNab
Hi all Looking for someone to point me in the right direction for info. I'm looking to add a SMS text facility to a database system for the public to access the info. Does anyone know of suppliers of equipment which supply equipment for PCs which allow them to send/receive text messages. Or does anyone use a SMS Gateway service (the ones where you send an email which is converted into a...

Selling a contract phone by Saint
Am I able to sell a phone which I obtained on a contract? I have no intention of terminating it but I don't particularly like the handset - it was free and I want to use my own phone instead. If I sell it is there any comeback from the SP - I don't want to do anything that's not above board. Saint

Which Orange OVP tariffs include 0870 numbers is free minutes? by Peter
I've looked everywhere I can think of, including google archives but can't find a definitive answer to this question. Which Orange OVP tariffs (not ring-fenced ones obviously) include free 0870 0845 and 0800 (in that order of priority)? And if anyone knows the answer to that, what is the cost for 0870 after free minutes have been used up? I'm asking for a friend who's half way through his...

INFO: Successor to H3 NEC 606 announced.... by >-@LuVbuG@-
I had a visit from a 3 rep today who says that NEC are working with 3 on a replacement for the 606, due to the somewhat *shady* performance and abysmal battery life of the existing handset. The new handset (forget the model name - 707 I think he said) is going to have *much improved* battery life, a decent look, and smaller form, so that you can actually put the thing in your pocket!! I'm...

Orange Sim not working, and a customer service fiasco by Stuart Moore
My phone (T68i) stopped working some time on Tues 15th I think; I tried the sim in another phone (P800) on Thurs and it was giving the same error (Searching... for ages then No Access). Going to GSM networks, "Select Network" brings up orange in the list but when I try to connect it just says "connecting" for ages and doesn't manage to. Thursday evening, I go into my local Orange Shop and...
