Default Orange Upgrade 3 SIM Updates

We have just upgraded to Nokia 6310i's with Orange and all users were sent 3
SIM updates.

Some complained that they could not see incoming call numbers (it just said
'call'). On speaking to Orange they said this happens when one of the SIM
updates is deleted accidentally (apparently easy to do if one is erased just
as a second update is received).

Can anyone tell me what the 3 SIM updates do so we would know if a user has
accidentally deleted one of the others?

Thanks for any help.

Adrian.

Tariq,

Thanks.

As and when they arrive, you delete each one, . .

I appreciate that. However the problem is (as acknowledged by Orange) that
if you delete one update just as another arrives it is possible to delete
the one that has just arrived without opening it and therefore not updating
the phone. I am therefore wondering what particular update(s) are in each
message so we can tell if a user has accidentally deleted one without
opening it.

Adrian.

As and when they arrive, you delete each one, and then switch the phone

off
and then back on again. Once you've restarted the phone in this way, it

will
then be possible to send text messages, see numbers of incoming calls,

etc.

Don't know, but if you call OCS and explain the problem they should be
able to resend the updates.

If you have caller ID switched off i.e., you do not send your number when
making a call, then it will not show incoming numbers also

I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago when using a new
(upgrade) SIM - additionally my CLID was also not being sent, so people I
was calling could not see it was me calling.

Eventually got Orange to resend the SIM (activation) updates and all is

now
OK.

[Top post snipped]

Only if you have caller ID switched off permanently by OCS. If you just
withhold it with 141 or the handset menus you will still get incoming
numbers shown. I know, I do..!
