Default Ofcom report says 4G mobile coverage patchy in Scotland

"Mobile phone coverage in Scotland lags behind other parts of the UK,
according to the communications regulator.

A report from Ofcom indicates that only 38% of the landmass has good 4G
coverage from all operators - while 82% of England is covered."

.... also ...

"4% of premises in Scotland still cannot access a decent fixed broadband
service"

An unsurprising consequence of how spaced-out civilisation is in large
swathes of Scotland, surely?

4G is to be used by the emergency services, and for that they need
adequate geographical coverage, not just adequate population coverage.

As it was from the BBC Scotland part of their website, I suspect that
the M8 would have been a better choice.

Unless I'm very much mistaken the emergency services system has been
either scrapped or put on hold for now?..

They have a "new incremental approach" which is Home Office speak for
delayed by at least 3 years ....
